Hey Ottawa, MENTORSHIP EQUALS YOU!

Mentorship is a powerful connection. A relationship that nurtures potential and fosters growth. For mentees, the benefits are exponential.

Mentorship = Empowerment

Marc's Story

From a young age, Marc faced challenges that seemed insurmountable. Growing up in a low-income family, attending high school without the support he needed and holes in his shoes, Marc’s future always seemed limited.

One day, he found Big Brothers Big Sisters. Marc was introduced to mentors who saw potential in him, potential he had not dared to imagine before. These mentors provided consistent support, encouraged his interests, and guided him toward setting and achieving goals beyond high school.

Marc credits mentorship with not only his survival but his ability to thrive, leading him to found truLOCAL, an innovative startup that he eventually sold for $16.7 million. Marc’s journey from uncertain beginnings to becoming a successful entrepreneur and race-car driver underscores the profound impact mentorship can have on a person’s life trajectory, no matter their circumstances.

Our Goal

Mentorship = many things. By supporting BBBSO, you are directly providing the building blocks that can change the course of a young person’s life.

In celebration of BBBS Month, BBBSO has set an ambitious goal to raise funds to create and support 30 matches... In just 30 days!!

By donating today, you help work towards this goal to get 30 young people off the waiting list and beginning their journey of support, encouragement and success with a mentor from BBBSO. You can make a one-time donation, or become a monthly donor (psst.. even a couple dollars makes a huge difference, and you can cancel at any time)!

A Calculated Impact

Youth in our programs benefit from the amazing effects of mentorship:

more likely to report feeling consistently happy

more likely to feel consistently confident

more likely to have a strong support network

felt fully supported by their mentor

Our programs are making a difference right now:

of mentees reported that their mentor helped them tackle tasks and achieve goals

of mentees felt that their mentors genuinely listened to and valued their ideas

of matches stayed together for 2+ years

The numbers add up, mentorship doesn’t just equal success; it multiplies it!

Yet, there’s a variable still missing from this equation: You.
